Team Lead Linux Systems Administrator

The Team Lead linux system administrator will manage our linux administration team to manage servers, environments and tools we utilise internally and for our clients.

Responsibilities entail the following:

  •  Manage Linux Enterprise Servers which support the company infrastructure and client projects.
  •  Setup and maintain server environments, refresh environments, update and install software, perform updates and configuration changes.
  •  Managing, documenting and deploy projects for PHP, Java or other custom applications.
  •  Setting up project repositories
  •  Configuring application servers, web servers and controlling user access.
  •  Generate and update documentation relating to the infrastructure procedures and design, configuration and issues encountered to ensure repeatability during environment setup
  •  Diagnosing and resolving issues with configuration, etc. to respond and troubleshoot issues quickly
  •  Maintaining the office network, including troubleshooting router, switch, network and VoIP issues
  •  Designing and implementing security policies, system backup and recover procedures, both hardware and software will be essential


Potential candidate will require:

  •  Bachelors or masters degree in business, marketing and/or computer science
  •  ITI Track for Linux and Server Administration is a plus.
  •  Minimum 5 years experience managing Linux based servers and services.
  •  Excellent understanding of CentOS and other RedHat based distributions, including commands, structure, etc.
  •  Excellent understanding of Web Servers, including Apache, including virtualhosts, user authentication
  •  Excellent understanding of cPanel and WHM
  •  Worked with DNS servers on linux previously
  •  Tomcat use previously, for Java based applications is a plus
  •  LDAP knowledge
  •  Worked extensively with firewalls including setup and configuration, use of IPTables is a definite plus
  •  Extensive knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as KVM, ESX or others
  •  Extensive knowledge of backup solutions such as Bacula
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Arabic).
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills.
  • Excellent ability to research and understand new technologies.
  •  Self motivated and can work independently and as part of a team.
